Enhancing Our Environment

Through our programs, we strive to promote adopting sustainable and responsible practices. By championing eco-friendly approaches, we aim to create a greener, more sustainable planet for future generations.

Join us in our mission to uplift our environment, where every action, no matter how small, contributes to a greater cause. Together, we can make a meaningful difference, leaving a lasting legacy of positive change for the planet and all living beings. Let's work hand in hand to build a more environmentally conscious and resilient world.

A Love Letter To Nature

In collaboration with Westchester Land Trust and other community stakeholders, we embarked on projects that positively impact our local communities.

The initiative’s core, "A Love Letter to Nature" aims to help the youth and their families make more informed food choices, increase wellness by incorporating more fresh fruits and homegrown vegetables into their daily diet, and experience the joys of growing plants and trees.

For this initiative in Mount Vernon, 400 grow bags were assembled, each capable of yielding up to 30 pounds of produce, filled with various vegetable and herb seeds. This multidisciplinary event included hands-on gardening, composting techniques, and live cooking displays. Westchester Land Trust's Pollinator Pop-Up also highlighted the importance of pollinators.

Earth Day

We partnered with Westchester Parks Foundation and Volunteer New York during our Earth Day celebration weekend! We focused on cleaning up various areas in Westchester County, including the Bronx River Parkway Trail in White Plains and Huguenot Park in New Rochelle.

In addition, we planted a cherry blossom tree, adding to the park's beauty in perpetuity.

 A Celebration of Herbs

We served our Seniors with an Enhancing our Environment program called A Celebration of Herbs. The event focused on improving the health of our seniors by growing and cooking healthy food. Participants were excited to receive bags of seedlings and their very own cookbook.
