About ZNO Community Service Fund, Inc.

Our Roots

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, an esteemed international service organization founded in 1908 at Howard University in Washington, D.C., as the pioneering Greek-letter organization established by African-American college-educated women.

In 1953, the Black population in Westchester County saw significant growth at the professional level, leading to the realization of the need for a strong women's group in a leadership role in the county. This led to the establishment of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. Zeta Nu Omega Chapter on March 12, 1955.

In 1982, the ZNO Community Service Fund Inc. (ZNO CSF, Inc.), a 501(c)(3) organization, was established by the dedicated members of Zeta Nu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated® to serve the Westchester County community.
